Arteries are deeply seated inside the muscles but veins are superficial. Why?

Arteries carry pure blood away from the heart to all parts of the body. Blood in arteries flows under high pressure. So, they are deeply seated inside the muscles. On the other hand, veins are superficial because blood flows in comparatively lower pressure in veins.
