Solution
When an injury occurs and blood vessels are damaged, the body starts a process to stop the bleeding.
First, blood vessels constrict (narrow) to reduce blood flow. This helps to limit the amount of blood that escapes from the wound.
Next, platelets (a type of blood cell) gather at the injury site and stick together to form a temporary plug. They release chemicals that attract more platelets, forming a larger clump that covers the wound.
This process effectively seals the wound, stopping the bleeding until the body can heal the tissue underneath.
