Solution
Carbon dioxide (\(\rm CO_{2}\)) is considered an acidic gas because, when it dissolves in water, it forms carbonic acid (\(\rm H_{2}CO_{3}\)), which releases hydrogen ions (\(\rm H^{+}\)) and makes the solution acidic.
It also turns wet blue litmus paper into red. This is a acidic property.
