A homologous series of alcohol is given in the table. In serial no. 2, 'X' is written instead of real compound.

A homologous series of a type of hydrocarbon is given in the table alongside. Where, X and Y are given in serial number 2 and 3 instead of the real compounds.

  1. Write molecular structure of the compound formed when one hydrogen atom of X is displaced by -OH.
  2. Write the structural formula of the compound formed by the removal of one hydrogen atom from two adjacent carbon atoms of Y.
